Unlike ReadyBoost, which allows you to remove the flash drive at any time without causing any errors, this procedure allows Windows XP to page out *active program data* to the flash drive, which means that sudden removal of the flash drive will likely cause a system crash or BSOD.
Furthermore, flash media have a fixed number of write cycles that ReadyBoost attempts to take into consideration. XP will not take this into consideration, and the heavy disk activity from paging operations may wear out the flash media sooner.

Hi.
I had mine open to upgrade the HD to a 60gb. But didn't strip the mobo out completely, so don't know... is the CPU soldered in ?
I'm wondering about the possibility of swapping in a U2500 duo.

It's not documented that the Functions keys (topmost row on the regular keyboard) F1, F2 - F12 are also available on this keyboard. Use Blue Fn key + letter ASDFGHJKL : . [enter] (all letter sare in the second row, except the dot)

My custom 80GB Docking Station for Sony UX
i wanted to make use of the bottom of the sony ux docking station and i realized that my external 2.5 hdd fits the dimension of that area. I took out the bottom cover and replaced it and i made sure it looked decent so i placed four studs on the bottom of each corner to provide stiffness and stability and overall it looked excellent in my opinion.

Followed your post, and it doesn't seem to be taking... I set my page file to the Memory Stick port with an initial size = 768, and a maximum size = 768. The currently allocated value still = 753 MB.
And there has not been a pagefile.sys created on the memory stick, it is still on the C:\ drive.....
Any thoughts on this????

No support for removable drives
By: Anonymous,
Mar 15 2008, 4:48 AM EDT
XP does not allow page files to be created on removable drives. This applies to USB flash drives also.
Have personally tried this with a CF card and a Thumbdrive. no amount of coaxing got my copy of XP SP2 to create a pagefile in the external drives.
I presume some smart regediting would be able to solve it but that's kind of out of my league
For those claiming otherwise please post a screenshot...(errr..on second though nevermind even i can create a file called pagefile.sys in the thumbdrive and set is as system attribute)

Hello guys, I purchased a Vaio UX-91s about a month back. however, i had this problem with the screen twice in 2 brand new units; the problem is, dust seems to be escaping in the screen itself. here's a you tube link that further clarifies the problem.

I was wondering if anyone has tried replacing the hard drive with a CF card on a 1.8" zif to cf adapter? I found the two following items: http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=11676 <-- adapter http://cgi.ebay.com/3Fi-32GB-COMPACT-FLASH-CF-CARD-32G-32-GB-16-16GB-8GB-8_W0QQitemZ250200727851QQihZ015QQcategoryZ122613QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem <-- 32GB CF card with support for True IDE mode From what I can tell, the 1.8" hdd in the UX isn't very fast so the specs seem comparable. Does anyone know if this seem workable? A 32GB flash drive for less than $300 US is alot more attractive than a $600 16GB SSD.

Sure , the games listed all work. Which ones run really well, but might still benefit from a full keyboard and mouse? Which ones feel like they were made for playing on-the-go with the stylus or easy with the thumb board?
Sudoku with Origami Experience is "made for UX". Something as old as Q3A probably runs really well, but really needs a real mouse. WoW, I would guess, is probably just in the "works" category.
A table could help this differentiation.
